We are proud to have 'Pregnancy and Parenting at Work Champion Accreditation' with Tommy’s charity. We’re proud to have also signed the Smallest Things Charter, to support the needs of premature babies and their families.
This is in recognition of the enhanced support we provide to our colleagues who experience pregnancy and baby loss or premature birth.
Losing a pregnancy at any stage is devastating and it can take time to recover both physically and emotionally. Parents who experience a miscarriage or stillbirth at any stage of their pregnancy should be supported and given the time and support they may need to grieve and process their loss.
Employees who experience premature birth of a baby have unique needs and require our support. Born too soon, premature babies can spend weeks and months in hospital before their parents can bring them home.

Whilst our Occupational Health Team should be your first port of call and are best placed to support you, whether you are experiencing these difficult times yourself or you are a manager supporting your team member, as part of our membership staff and managers are also able to access Tommy’s pregnancy portal.
The portal supports the health and wellbeing of employees through pregnancy and after, no matter their journey by providing a range of 'expert led training and resources' whether you are going through this difficult time yourself, or a line manager supporting your team member;
The journey to parenthood looks so different for everyone, no two journeys will be the same which is why the training and resources provided as part of our Tommy’s Pregnancy and Parenting at Work accreditation covers the entire pregnancy spectrum:
- ‘Fertility in the Workplace’
- ‘Supporting an Employee Through Pregnancy and Baby Loss or Premature Birth at Work’
- ‘Pregnancy and Parenting at Work’
There are also online resources and information for a full range of topics relating to pregnancy and parenting such as a Maternity Date Calculator: easy to use and provides you with important dates to note.
